Tannery Brown Oak / Herringbone
Tannery Brown Oak herringbone carries a 3mm wear layer of European oak on a multi-layered engineered board, 14mm thick in total. Blocks measure 90 × 400mm, with a tongue and groove fitting profile.
Tannery Brown combines rich warm tones with a distressed, rustic appearance. Chestnut brown tones wash across a randomly pitted surface and tumble-distressed bevel, giving the blocks a naturally worn, aged look. The boards are finished with a cured natural oil that protects the wood and creates a lustrous glow.

Distressed and coloured.
Brushed, then mechanically distressed and tumble-edged at the mill before a coloured UV oil goes on. The pitting, scrapes and softened bevels are cut in deliberately, so the floor arrives already reading as worn.
That is the practical argument for it: new wear lands on top of existing character rather than standing out against a crisp surface. The distressing is intentionally irregular board to board, so no two lengths match.
Rustic means character.
Rustic grade (CD) works with the natural character of the timber rather than sorting it out. That is worth understanding before you order.
Expect visible knots of varying size, both heartwood and sapwood, colour variation between boards, and small checks and end shake stabilised with tinted filler. These are grade features, not manufacturing defects — they are what the rustic label means.
