Silver Haze Oak / Herringbone

Silver Haze Oak herringbone carries a 3mm wear layer of European oak on a multi-layered engineered board, 14mm thick in total. Blocks measure 90 × 400mm, with a tongue and groove fitting profile.

The rustic European oak surface is brushed and textured, before multiple coloured oils are applied which settle into the grain. This creates a striking oak floor with contrasting silver grains washing over the surface.

The finish

Brushed, coloured, oiled.

The board is brushed first — a wire head lifts the soft summer grain out of the wear layer and leaves the harder grain standing proud. Coloured UV oil then goes on and settles into that open texture rather than filming over the top of it.

Because the colour sits in the grain, wear reads as patina rather than as a broken surface film, and damage can be spot-repaired with matching oil instead of a full sand and refinish. Oil tone shifts a little between batches, so order in one go where you can.

About the grade

Rustic means character.

Rustic grade (CD) works with the natural character of the timber rather than sorting it out. That is worth understanding before you order.

Expect visible knots of varying size, both heartwood and sapwood, colour variation between boards, and small checks and end shake stabilised with tinted filler. These are grade features, not manufacturing defects — they are what the rustic label means.

KnotsPresent throughout, varying in size. Filler-stabilised where needed.
Colour variationBoard-to-board variation is part of the grade. Includes sapwood.
FillerTinted to complement wood tone; may contrast with knots for character.
Batch variationFiller and finish can vary slightly between batches — order in one go where possible.
