Two ways we work
If you're local to Weybridge — full job, start to finish. Showroom, site survey, supply, installation, aftercare. One team, one number.
If you're further afield — same collection, shipped UK-wide. Same suppliers we'd use for our own work. Bring your own fitter; we'll make sure they've got everything they need to do the job properly.
What we do
Engineered oak. Wide planks in matt, brushed, smoked and reactive finishes. The floor most of our customers come to us for, and the one we know best — well-suited to underfloor heating, kitchens, hallways and the rest of the realities of a lived-in home. Available across the showroom collection.
Parquet. Herringbone, chevron, Versailles panels, basket weave. The pattern work the trade is known for, and the work AK has built its reputation on across Surrey and London. Including careful restoration of older parquet — sanding, repair, recolouring, refinishing. Sometimes the right answer isn't a new floor; it's bringing an existing one back. We'll tell you honestly which way to go.
Stair cladding. Turning carpeted or tiled stairs into a continuation of the hallway floor. One of the most-requested jobs we do, and one of the most transformative — the stairs go from being the loudest thing in the house to being part of it. Open or closed risers, bullnose or square edge, in oak to match what's gone down on the landing.
Subfloor preparation. Tile removal, levelling, latex screed, damp-proof membranes where the survey calls for one. Patient, unglamorous work that quietly decides how good a floor will look in five years' time. We won't lay over a subfloor that isn't ready, even if it costs a day.
Skirting. Supplied and fitted alongside the floor — primed MDF, oak, or matched to an existing profile. New skirting at the same time as the floor is one of those small details that keeps a renovation looking properly finished rather than nearly finished.
Bespoke detailing. Borders, inlays, mixed-pattern transitions. The kind of work that takes a floor from finished to memorable. If you've seen something online you'd like translated, send the picture through to our WhatsApp.
When wood isn't the right answer
Bathrooms, utility rooms, basements, kitchens prone to spills, rental properties on a tighter budget. For these, hardwood isn't always the right call — and we'd rather tell you that than sell you something that won't last in the room.
We supply and install LVT, SPC, vinyl and laminate, including Amtico and Karndean — the same long-standing supplier relationships, same installation standards. You'll see a curated selection of these in the showroom alongside the hardwood.
